Purva Venezia Evergreen Seniors Picnic: A Day to Remember
Last Thursday, the Purva Venezia Seniors Group Picnic was a resounding success, bringing together 50 enthusiastic participants for a day filled with fun, fitness, and friendship. The event kicked off with a Boot Camp that, while challenging, was enthusiastically embraced by most of the seniors. Despite its intensity, the group tackled the exercises head-on and left with a deep sense of accomplishment, proving that age is just a number when it comes to staying active.
Once the Boot Camp was completed, the group indulged in a sumptuous lunch, fueling up for the activities that lay ahead. The post-lunch session was packed with laughter as everyone took part in a spirited game of Tambola (Housie), followed by a round of tricky word games that kept minds sharp and energy levels high.

The afternoon brought a shift to more physical fun with a friendly game of Cricket on the lush lawns. For an entire hour, the seniors enjoyed the game, engaging in playful competition and camaraderie. Sweaty but energized, they then made their way to the Rain Dance section, where they cooled off by dancing under sprays of refreshing water. Some of the Ladies went to the basketball Ring and tried their hand as basketing the ball. We could hear shrill laughter from that section.
As the event drew to a close, the group gathered for an Evening Tea, accompanied by delicious, crispy Bhajias that were the perfect way to end the day. It was an experience filled with joy, laughter, and memories that will last a lifetime.
A special mention must go to the organizing committee, who did an excellent job in arranging the transportation. One large luxury bus comfortably transported all 50 participants, ensuring that everyone could travel together and start and end the day on a high note.
This picnic was not just an event; it was a celebration of community, wellness, and the joy of being together. It’s an experience that all of us seniors will cherish and remember for years to come.
